Description
My name is Pip, I was born on the 5/1/2021, I am a standard black and tan dachshund , still intact and up to date with fleeing and worming, also microchip.
I am very good with commands like sit, paw, down, come, in, out and bed. I also love squeaky toys althought my favourite game is shredding them to get the squeaker out.
I love my toys so much it's best that I am the only dog in the house as I am quite possessive over them. I am very good around adults but not used to being around young children. I also am unable to live with other pets such as cats and birds.
I do not bark as much as other dachshunds and I am reasonably quiet at home. I will tap on my food bowl when I am hungry, I will tap on my water bowl when I would like a top up and I will tap on the door when I want to go out. I am fully house trained and I am able to be left alone for 4/5 hours.
I am not bothered about other dogs when in unfamiliar places but if I see a dog near my home whilst on a walk I will bark at them. I do not like other dogs coming into my personal space as this scares me. I am kept on a lead when put in public however I have very good recall when I am taken to a private field where I love to chase a ball and will not take my eyes off you when you have it.
I am looking for a forever home where I will be the only dog. This is due to no fault of my own. Unfortunately my current family have had a change of circumstances and can no longer offer me the attention I am used to.

Not the best choice for first time owners because Dachshunds often have a mind of their own
Care must be taken with puppies because they must not be allowed to jump up or down from anywhere because it could damage their backs and joints
They are prone to putting on too much weight if not given enough daily exercise
