This is Roma, she is a 11 month old miniature dachshund. I am looking to rehome her due to me getting a new job which means I will be out of the house for too long every day and sadly Roma wouldn't cope with being on her own this long everyday.
Roma is a great family dog, she currently lives with myself, partner and 5 year old. She has a great temperament with us and absolutely adores my son.
However, she is not great with new people - she is very nervous and it takes her a long time to warm to the idea of being around someone new. She has never shown any signs of aggression she will just run away from you and bark until she gets use to you.
In terms of other dogs, when we go on holiday Roma goes to a dog sitter who has a dog and she absolutely loves it. She also comes to family's house who have dogs and she loves to play and gets on absolutely great with them. But when out on walks, Roma is very reactive and will bark and lunge at other dogs, I feel this is something that can definitely be worked on as she isn't like this with all dogs and I think it's more nerves than aggression.
Roma hasn't been great at toilet training either, she does still have an accident in the house near enough every day. She will go in the garden and do her business however she likes to sneak off in the house when you're not looking so she definitely needs to be watched or kept in close proximity to monitor this - again this is something that could be worked on.
Roma is super snuggly, she loves nothing more than to sit on your knee and cuddle and she currently does get into our bed during the night as she sleeps in our bedroom.
I currently work from home however when I go out Roma does go in her cage and has been left for longer periods. She would suit a home that isn't going to be out of the house all the time as she really struggles when she is on her own, she will settle for a few hours but does become restless and will bark after being left for a while.
She is vaccinated and up to date with flea and worming.
Roma will be the perfect dog for someone who has got the time and effort to put in to her, she is super affectionate and just wants to be babied all the time. She loves playing ball and carrying her snuggly toys around in her mouth.
