Description

A bonded pair of rabbits: Male = Pecan. He is a Harlequin and lionhead mix with multicoloured brown/beige long fur who we rescued when he was two weeks old (January 2020). He used to be a free roam rabbit who had full access to an entire flat. we then moved in with my parents where his space decreased to just one room due to my parents having dogs and safety issues. Pecan is a loving and affectionate boy who likes to be held and sit on your lap. He will often groom you and circle your feet until he is stroked. He likes head scratches and ear strokes. He LOVES banana. Female = Tofu. White mini lop. We got Tofu when we moved into my parents May 2022. she was 8 weeks old when we got her from a reputable pet shop (Two by Two - Merry Hill Shopping Centre). Tofu is a complicated case. She is a very anxious girl and unfortunately this has only gotten worse. She often thumps and lunges. She has bitten me a couple of times. I feel if someone had more time than me, they would be able to help her come out of her shell much better than I have. She loves Pecan more than anything and can become territorial over him. She LOVES carrot. Reason for rehoming: Unfortunately, we moved out of my parents home into a renovation project September 2024 and hoped that we would have their room (they're indoor rabbits) sorted by now. In the meantime, my parents agreed to keep them at theirs until it was all sorted. It has now been 16 months and they are still at my parents, we are no closer to getting their space done as we now have a 3 month old child and our money has become VERY tight (meaning renovations have taken a pause). My moms house has had a bereavement (my nan who lived with them) in November, leaving my parents grieving. Lastly, while we did not plan on having a child, we now have a 3 month old daughter who takes up the majority of our time and money, meaning we have a lot less for the bunnies. Rabbits take up a lot of time, energy and love which I cannot guarantee we have anymore. When putting all of these together, we have made the heartbreaking decision that the rabbits would find a better home with someone who can give them all their attention, love, and a space to live now. These rabbits are gorgeous and loving a deserve that. While they have been at my parents, our care for them has dropped as we don't have the chance to go round everyday and this is not good enough. We hope you understand that we love these animals and want the best for them and we now understand that our situation changes means this is no longer us. We are keeping the price as nothing, as long as we feel the person is the correct fit for them. Because of Tofu, we would be choosing someone who does NOT have very young children as this would cause her more stress and I believe young children and rabbits do not mix well.
