Reggie is a beautiful boy he is 15 months old. We originally got him from someone local who couldn't afford to keep him. We have another miniature dachshund they adore each other but Reggie needs a home where he has someone with him at home alot and plenty of attention. Which i can no longer offer when we got him it was a home with 4 adults but now its only myself and i work full time. Reggie has become a little bit nervous and i think thats due to not being alone to being alone (with winnie) no humans of a day whilst im at work. He needs love, attention and some training. He is flead,wormed and has injections are up to date he also is micro chipped. This hasnt been a easy decision but i have to do whats best for reggie. He barks at first but when you take the time to let him sniff you and he realises hes safe he wont leave your side. He is very playful loves his walk, toys and treats. He is great with winnie our other dog but i think he would need to go to a home without other pets until he felt safe in his new home. Hes great with people and kids but again he is a little anxious and will bark but in no way is aggressive. He is very protective of our other dog and i think this is part of the problem. But when i say he will love you as much as you love him its true. He loves to curl up on your knee or asleep on his back next to you. He is toilet, cage trained but he loves his comfort so always needs a thick blanket. There will be £100 fee to make sure he is going to a loving home. This is the hardest decision ive had to make so i need to make sure he goes to a safe and loving home. Again he will need to go to a home with no other dogs or cats until he is settled. Not the best choice for first time owners because Dachshunds often have a mind of their own

Care must be taken with puppies because they must not be allowed to jump up or down from anywhere because it could damage their backs and joints

They are prone to putting on too much weight if not given enough daily exercise

The breed is known to suffer from quite a few health concerns so vet bills can be high and why pet insurance is so important for anyone owning a Dachshund
