Fen Spaniels are the culmination of over twenty years of selective breeding to produce a versatile dog with a superb temperament that is suitable as a companion, pet, therapy or activity dog or that can be trained for other disciplines such as detection, hawking or hunting.
The puppies have genes which can be traced back over multiple generations using rare pointing breeds, such as Brittanys and Korthols Griffon to introduce the bobtail and wire coat genes and a more recently significant amount of English Springer Spaniel has been used. The introduction of wire-coat was for added weather/cover protection and some carry the naturally shorter tail (from the Brittany gene) to help guard against injury without the need for tail docking.
The puppies will be a similar size to the English Springer Spaniel, with much same the temperament, but without the neurotic nature of some pure strains. They are very trainable , responsive, sociable and friendly.
The puppies are well-socialised with other dogs. They are brought up with children and will have seen cats. They will be microchipped, vaccinated (on request) and will come with 4 weeks petplan insurance.
All pure-bred ancestors have been genetically tested for relevant genetic disorders ensuring that the puppies are genetically clear.
