Olwen is a 9‑month‑old female dwarf hamster with a gentle nature and an irresistibly cute personality. We have completely fallen for her—especially the way she runs straight to the front of her enclosure whenever she hears our voices. She’s a tiny hamster who genuinely enjoys human company.
Olwen is an active girl who loves exploring every corner of her setup. Her hides are filled with moss, and she often spends the night “redecorating,” leaving her enclosure looking different each morning with moss dotted in every corner. She adores her wheel, too, and a quick check of the pedometer shows she can run over five miles in a single night.
Olwen is easy to handle and doesn’t mind being gently scooped into your hands. She’s calm, curious, and happy to interact—especially if you offer her a bit of cucumber, her absolute favourite treat.
Olwen will need an enclosure that meets the minimum welfare standard of 100cm x 50cm x 50cm, along with plenty of enrichment to support her active nature. Jug or tunnel transfers work best and keep her calm.
She would thrive in a home that appreciates her busy nature, provides plenty of enrichment, and enjoys a hamster who genuinely engages with her humans.
