I’m looking for the right home for my handsome German Shepherd due to a lack of space and changes in our household. He is toilet trained, very loving, and truly has a good heart. He forms strong bonds and is extremely loyal, which does mean he can be a bit over-protective of me. At home, he has occasional temperament issues and can be protective around other family members, so he would benefit from continued, experienced handling and further training—especially to help manage this side of his personality.
Outside of the home, he’s a completely different dog: very social, confident, and friendly, with amazing recall. He has basic training already in place and responds well, but ongoing training would be important to help him reach his full potential.
We also live with cats, and while we’ve tried to make it work, it isn’t practical long-term for our household. This is not an easy decision, and I want to be completely transparent to ensure he goes to a home that understands the breed and can give him the structure, space, and consistency he needs. In the right environment, he will make an incredibly loyal, affectionate companion.
