Description
This is Mica.
She is a standard-sized dachshund dog- 8 Kgs. She has a rare and unique coat, silver, tan & black dapple with partial eye heterochromia.
She is extremely soft to the touch & has the sweetest personality. She is very cuddly!
She has been spayed and has been living with a second dachshund dog, called Maya. They have never had any aggression/territorial or other issues whether left alone or together.
Mica does not have any food aggression. She also understands two languages, English and Bulgarian. Very clever dog. Mica can be trained many tricks very easily. She is extremely agile and would do extremely well in agility courses. Jumps over triple her height!
She has lots of character and a day is never boring with her. She loves to be close to humans.
She is very good at being an emotional support dog, always there for you.
She is extremely loving and loyal.
Mica loves children. Very patient towards them & careful when playful. She is not destructive towards furniture/shoes/clothes.
However, when she was a puppy she would destroy underwear- this hasn’t been the case for a very long time; as underwear is no longer accessible- best not to be within reach.
Her negatives:
She is very anxious dog. With training it has gotten better, however it is still an issue sometimes. She has similar characteristics of a much younger dog- like a puppy (we think she might have developmental problems).
Unfortunately, we can no longer keep up with training her, as she requires a lot of attention and a different lifestyle. We have tried for a very long time and many different ways, however we think she needs someone with more experience to get to her.
Due to the owner (me) having issues with physical health, it has become too difficult to manage her. She is a very active dog- she requires lots of walks, best for someone with land/garden. Lots of mental stimulation. Would oddly enough be a great sheepdog/herding dog.
She is very reactive to the outside world.
Mica is too excited, too overwhelmed, possibly anxious being outside. She will scream/whine often, especially if dogs are around. We have not been able to resolve this, and seem to not have the experience to correct this.
She needs someone with experience and or a dog that will correct this for her.
This behaviour is only unique to her, the dog she lives with (Maya 9), does not have this issue.
She is extremely curious and possesses many traits that puppies do.
She still needs some training when outside as she is too excited, she may pull on the leash from time to time.
We have tried to train Mica for years with many different methods and she has improved significantly, she requires consistency and special care, but we do think she is trainable. Unfortunately, we can no longer care for her and she deserves someone that can provide her with everything we cannot. Although it pains me to have to rehome Mica, this is definitely the best way for her to reach full happiness.
Any questions I am happy to answer.
