Millie is a beautiful little dachshund with a big heart and even bigger personality. Once she trusts you, sheās the sweetest, most affectionate companion ā a total softy who adores belly rubs, kisses, and being by your side. Sheās happiest when she can be someoneās shadow, soaking up love and attention from her favourite person/people š«¶
Millie is looking for a calm, understanding home where she can truly thrive. She can be reactive and is best suited as the only pet in the household. From her past experiences, we know sheās not comfortable around children or cats, and she can be selective with other dogs, so sheāll do best as the sole animal in an adult-only home (or one with older children who understand her anxieties & triggers).
Millie came from a difficult background where she was bullied by other dogs and frightened by younger child, which sadly left her anxious and unsure in busy ,noisy environments š. Despite this, sheās made amazing progress and has shown how loving and loyal she can be with the people she trusts and has built a bond with.
Due to her having a rough start she is anxious and reactive around most other animals (she has shown she can get on with other dogs selectively but can be hit & miss.) She has shown on multiple occasions that with enough exposure and the correct response she can learn to trust new people however she gets very scared outside of the home of strangers and lunges if scared and has bitten in the past breaking skin so using a mesh muzzle is the only way I'm able to manage to walk her alone, as while I also have my other dog unfortunately I am unable to offer her to attention needed for her to progress any further.
Sheās an active girl who loves going for walks, playing fetch, and having a good game of tug of war. Sheād thrive in a home with access to a garden or with someone who enjoys long walks and a slower-paced, peaceful lifestyle.
