Roo:

Roo is a rescue dog from the streets of Jordan, which has unfortunately left him with some scars and an amputated tail. Despite his bad start to life, he is an affectionate and goofy character who bonds well to his immediate family.
Roo loves to be brushed, and is very tolerant of handling with those he trusts. He can be bathed, have his nails trimmed, and be inspected with ease.
True to the Canaan Dog breed, Roo is aloof with strangers and takes his time to build a relationship and trust with new people. He can also be vocal (alert barking, and ‘singing’), typical to the breed, but does quieten down once asked.
Whilst in foster, Roo has received professional training for the following skills:
• Recall
• Heel and Loose Lead
• Overcoming reactivity
• Positions
• Place
• Crate
Plus some fun tricks to keep his mental state healthy.
Roo currently lives with 2 other dogs, and is socially tolerant towards dogs. He could live alongside any other dogs with structure, or a calm dog within a less structured household. He would equally be happy being an only dog. He has been on group dog walks many times, and has no issues with this providing dogs don’t jump all over him- and has even engaged in the odd play with dogs he knows well. He is not the sort of dog who would suit a daycare based environment, or dog park, and would be happier at home in his own space.
Roo is fairly laid back dog, and although enjoys his walks- prefers to go at a slower pace and take in the environment. He is not a dog who needs endless exercise, and can go without if required (sometimes he even chooses to go without, and prefers to sleep!).
