Description

Erol is a 5 Year old Medium Sized Male weighing roughly around 22KG. Erol is chipped, neutered and vaccinated. Erol does have a sensitive stomach and cannot have any beef products, he is currently on hypoallergenic food. In January 2026 Erol was moved to different private boarding kennels. They have said that Erol is a very happy boy. He walks ‘amazingly’ on a lead and allows staff to take food and toys in and out of the kennel without any issue. Erol was taken to the vets where he happily greeted everyone in the office with a waggy tail and excitement. He jumped in and out of the van with no issues and was calm on the journey. He has not shown any reactivity to other dogs whilst in kennels but has not been integrated with them. Staff at the kennels have said ‘Erol likes; toys mainly road kill style toys. Lick mats, cuddles. Chappie (due to being allergic to beef) + dry food in small amounts He dislikes; kongs (atm). Everyone loves him, everyone wants him even the vets were all over him and thought he was amazing. He would make a great family pet, no issues have been seen so far at all.’ A PPTF volunteer went to see Erol and when she arrived he was in the exercise yard. He was very excited running to the entrance with a baggy tail when he met her through the kennels. He gave her kisses through the bars even though he has never met her before. On her second visit she went into the kennel with him and he was such a happy and excited dog. He sat and gave his paw for treats. He allowed her to stroke him and give him a fuss which he seemed to enjoy. He appears to be very food motivated. Erol accepts a collar, harness, muzzle and lead. He is was used to wearing a cani cross harness previously and lead to run in. Erol walks well on the lead and does not pull, he will happily walk and sniff around. He can however pull to chase a cat if he sees one. Erol was previously been reactive around other dogs on walks however this has greatly improved with training. He can however still be reactive to flat faced breeds such as pugs, frenchies and bulldogs. His family always ensured to give him space on walks which minimises his reactivity almost completely. Erol has been around children on rare occasions, he can be very unsure around small children which his family feel is due to lack of socialisation. He has growled and has previously tried to lunge around children so his family keep him muzzled when in environments with small children such as at the pub. He is calmer around children 10+ however can sometimes still growl. Due to this he can live with children 16+. Erol has been around lots of dogs and has lots of good doggy friends that he has built a relationship with him over several months or a year. He is happy to interact and walk with these dogs and sometimes play. He is best when only interacting with one dog and not in a pack when he can become overstimulated. Erol has previously lived with another dog who he was very good with. Erol has snapped and bit another dog who got too close to him at the kennels on a walk. Because of this and his previous dog fight it is felt that he will be best suited to a dog free home or a home with a similar sized dog after successful meets. But it would be imperative to do slow and sensible introductions. Erol is reactive to cats and will bark, lunge and growl at them. He can also chase foxes. For this reason he will need a cat free home with no small furries. Erol is toilet trained and crate trained. He has never been destructive in the home and is described as calm. Erol does not display guarding behaviours around his food however he can guardew toys and chews. He can be left alone for up to 6 hours with no issues however does have a dog walker to break up this time. Erol sleeps brilliantly overnight in the kitchen and will happily take himself to bed when he is ready. He travels well in the car and has massively improved on this as he used to be nervous.
