Jack is a 4.5-year-old Cockapoo boy who has lived in a home his whole life. He is a calm, thoughtful, sensitive dog who bonds deeply with his people. He enjoys affection — but always on his own terms. He will come for cuddles when he feels safe, then happily take himself off to rest.
💔 Background / Surrender Story
Jack has been through too many changes in a very short time…
He first lost his home due to a house move where not all dogs could stay. He was chosen because it was believed he would cope best — but the reality was very different. Suddenly everything changed — new home, new people. Unsurprisingly, Jack became anxious, unsure, had a few accidents and needed space. He simply didn’t have time to understand what was happening. The new family admitted they had overestimated their readiness for a dog. The situation became overwhelming for them, affecting their mental health. This was not about Jack.
Jack was then placed again… and for two weeks, we truly believed he had found his place.
🐾 What happened?
During a walk, Jack picked up a tissue. Not yet understanding the cue “drop it,” he became unsure when the tone changed and reacted by guarding and giving a warning snap. After everything he’s been through, this is not surprising.
💔 The lady in the home really loves Jack. She describes him as a lovely, misunderstood dog and was willing to work with him, recognising that his reactions come from stress and miscommunication. She saw his potential and how responsive and gentle he is. But sadly, her husband does not feel able to continue, and has insisted Jack must be rehomed.
So once again… Jack has to leave.
Despite this, the family said:
“Jack is a beautiful dog who has so much love to give. He is gentle and enjoys fuss on his own terms… He simply just wants love from his humans.”

🐶 About Jack
Jack is a calm, thoughtful, sensitive dog who bonds deeply with his people. He enjoys affection — but always on his own terms. He will come for cuddles when he feels safe, then happily take himself off to rest.
He walks nicely on the lead, knows basic commands like sit and paw, and enjoys being outside.
He can be unsure around some men and does not like invasive handling (especially face or feet), so he needs an owner who respects his boundaries and communicates calmly.
🏡 Ideal Home
Jack needs a calm, stable home where nothing is rushed. A patient, understanding person who will allow him time to decompress, build trust and learn at his own pace.
Adult-only home. Quiet lifestyle. Best as the only dog as other dogs not always can respect his need of own space.
💞 Jack is a sensitive boy who hasn’t been given time to feel safe in a constantly changing world. Give him that… and you will see the loving, gentle dog he truly is.
🩺 Health Information
Jack is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. No known medical issues.
