Tarkie (Tarquin) is a large mini dachshund. He is clear cream long haired. He is 5 years old and in good health.
He is a wonderfully friendly and lovely dog. We are looking for a home that will love him as much as he deserves. Unfortunately my husband travels half the week and my daughter has been diagnosed with a disability and we feel we aren’t giving him the attention he deserves. We will only give him to a really loving family.
Tarkie is incredibly friendly. Has grown up with two children. He never fights with other dogs. He is quiet at home but barks on walks or when chasing things in the garden. He gets very excited when new people come round and therefore he can’t be touched for 5 minutes until he calms down. Otherwise he will wee. Although- with knowledge of that he hasn’t done that for over a couple of years. Unless someone rather enthusiastically ignores our advise not to stroke him.
Tarkie is house trained. He sleeps through the night from about 9pm to 8am. He loves nothing more than a lazy day. He is content with a short walk a day but can also do a bit more at weekends.
He has fit so well into our lives and really doesn’t cause any bother to us. We just want more for him than we can give.
