Description

We regrettably are having to rehome our boy Woody. We took him on from my mum - the original breeder, however after 2 months we have sadly come to the conclusion he is not suitable to our family, and lifestyle. He’s a lovely little boy, day time potty trained, knows basic tricks, very food oriented, great with other animals and children of all ages. He’s a massive companion dog, and would go greatly with a suited person or family that have the free time available for him. We’re asking £200 simply to know he’s going to the right home. He’ll come with his crate, toys/teddies/2 x dog beds, his food bag and food bowl. It’s been a very heartbreaking decision and definitely not one done lightly, but he deserves to be with someone who can give him the life he deserves and the attention he needs and wants. He is flea and wormed up to date, has had his vaccines, and registered with a vet up to date with his health checks, and microchipped that still has yet to be changed anyway. We can deliver to Gloucester/Cheltenham areas, or collection is available in Cheltenham.

Pros

Extremely affectionate and loyal little dogs
Very intelligent Dachshunds learn quickly and know how to please
Fun-loving and playful by nature
Energetic and feisty Dachshunds like to be kept entertained

Cons

Not the best choice for first time owners because Dachshunds often have a mind of their own
Care must be taken with puppies because they must not be allowed to jump up or down from anywhere because it could damage their backs and joints
They are prone to putting on too much weight if not given enough daily exercise
The breed is known to suffer from quite a few health concerns so vet bills can be high and why pet insurance is so important for anyone owning a Dachshund
