DescriptionHi, I have had Alfie since he was born as a litter of four to a neglected neighbourhood cat at my sisters house, so from birth he was always gonig to be mine.
He is almost 7 now, and I am moving to Canada, and I don't think it is fair to him to bring him on the trip, my partners son is also allergic, so I have no choice anyway :(
He is THE most affectionate cat I have ever known, and he likes to make a real connection, but it will take him a few days with someone new due to his age.. He may hide at first, then finally realise you are the new food source, and then find his way to you. His sleeping spot is purring away on a head, nice and cosy, with his paw wrapped around the neck. For me this is every night, but he goes to my daughter when I am away from home, and also my brother when he has been house sitting for me, so I have no doubt it's not a loyalty thing but he just likes the cuddles!
He is a typical cat, likes to be fussed when he wants it, and can snap if he doesn't, or if you disturb him for too long. He won't sit on your lap, but he will jump up on the top of the sofa and nuzzle into your neck, or he will sleep for 8 hours next to your head, loud purrs all the way. Also - adores being brushed - it's like catnip for him!
Since he is a middle aged boy at 7 now, he probably needs an older family, teens and up, he gets along fab with my daughter who is 16, but he will attack her feet in the night if she disturbs him lol, but she is old enough to know to move her feet until he calms down :)
He goes outside at the moment, but would need to be kept in for a couple of weeks to get used to the new environment.
I am looking for a fluffy cat lover to take him and love him for the rest of his life and send me photos every now and then .. Really sad to let him go but I know I have to!
I'm leaving UK in July, so looking to rehome in June.
£10 as won't let me put £0, but home is the most important. No dogs!
