Henlo is a beautiful 5 year old Golden Retriever with a gentle, friendly nature and a true love for family life. He adores being around people and loves getting attention, joining you on a long walk, or playing a good game of fetch. He also loves swimming. Henlo is an active dog who enjoys staying busy, but he also needs his quiet time. During the day, he appreciates having a calm space to rest and recharge, especially when there’s a lot happening around him. Too much noise or activity can make him a little anxious, so a home that can offer both fun and peaceful downtime would be ideal. He has basic training and walks well once he settles, though he may pull a little at the start of a walk due to excitement. His recall is decent but could benefit from some continued practice, especially in more distracting environments. Henlo is wonderful with children and has been a loving, patient companion in a busy household. He would thrive in a home where he can enjoy plenty of affection, activity, and time with his people, along with a cozy spot to relax when he needs a break. An ideal home for Henlo would be somewhere in Kent, as we would love to stay in touch and hear how he’s getting on.
Henlo thrives on regular exercise, grooming, and plenty of attention. With a newborn in the family, two young children under four, and both of us working full‑time, we’ve had to face the difficult reality that we can no longer give him the time and care he truly deserves. This decision comes from a place of love, we want Henlo to have a home where he can receive the attention, activity, and companionship that make him happiest.
Henlo has a sensitive stomach, he only eats Purina Pro Plan Large Athletic Adult Everyday Nutrition (dry food). This diet has suited him perfectly, and he has been issue‑free for over a year.
To keep his tummy happy, treats should be given sparingly and in small amounts. He does not tolerate roasted or dried bones with meat on them, so these should be avoided entirely. Should he eat something he's not suppose to, he may experience diarrhea for few days but standard probiotics which we normally buy on Amazon will get him back to normal.
Henlo is comfortable around other dogs, babies and children of all ages but has never lived with a cat, so we can’t say for certain how he would behave in a home with one. On walks, his reactions vary, if he sees a cat run, he may show interest and want to chase, or he may simply choose to ignore it and keep moving.
