Update: we have had lots of enquiries about Sally and thank everyone for offering such lovely homes. We are following up with a local family and doing a few visits to allow Sally to get used to them and them to get used to Sally. If anything changes with this we will update the advert and get back to everyone.
We may have another girl available but this will only be around Christmas time.
🐾 We are a small scale licensed breeder and as such can only keep a limited number of dogs.
🐾 We have only rehomed to family before so it’s important that we get the right home. I am not in a rush for her to leave.
🐾 We own Sally’s mum (Holly) and searched out the best stud for Holly. We travelled a distance to use Harry (son of a Show Chanpion). And were very lucky to have produced Sally and the puppies that Sally has gone on to produce herself.
🐾 All our dogs are first and foremost pets. So Sally lives in our home (we don’t have kennels). She likes to be with people but is also happy in a crate at night or while shopping. She also likes being on the couch.
🐾 Being a ‘Show Type’ she is good on the lead but also happy to chill around the garden or around the home (on the couch).
🐾 Sally plays mainly with Boo (our nearly 2 year old Blue Roan). See video clip.
🐾 She is not really one for toys. But would fetch a tennis ball all day.
🐾 She will bark if someone comes to the door. But, she is not a barker for the sake of it.
🐾 As Sally was a breeding girl she has had thorough health tests. She has clear DNA test results for the following;
-AMS
-PRA
-AON
-FN
She also had her eyes tested in March 2022 with a 0 rate (low score is good). Meaning that she is unlikely to develop eye problems in the future.
Although Sally herself had not been hip scored (Spaniels can have issues with their hips) Holly ((Sally’s mum) has had this test.
All health tests can be verified on the Kennel Club website by searching her registered name - Boggyhall Hug.
🐾 I appreciate people might be concerned about a retired breeding girl but due to our high standards on health she is a good healthy dog.
🐾 Sally has been spayed.
🐾 As we are licensed Sally is also getting a full scale and polish of her teeth (13th August at a cost of £250. This is a requirement of licensing that retiring dogs should have this procedure.
🐾 Her annual boosters are due in December.
🐾 Sally has a 3 monthly wormer and this was given (1st August).
🐾 As with our puppy vetting we would want to ensure that the fit with Sally worked both ways. That the new owner was 100% committed but also that we had found the best home for Sally. This may take several visits.
