This is Milo, he's a one year old Labrador Retriever, we got him from a puppy in October 2024. He is fully KC registered and we have all paperwork of his fabulous ancestral lines of both show and working dogs.
Milo was brought as our first ever family dog and we have tried really hard to get him to fit into our family and train him but unfortunately its just not working out and we don't feel he was the right breed for us.
Its through no fault of his own, he's a lovely boy, not aggressive and is fully toilet trained and sleeps in his crate with no issues but we cannot commit the time needed or get the grips with training him, we have tried at home trainers and ourselves, various leads and equipment but we cant seem to master this. He is a puller on lead, will react to other dogs and humans, a very bouncy boy who loves to jump up and very very driven through his retriever line.
Milo needs to be working in my opinion, he would suit being a farmers friend, someone with a lot of land and essentially a job for him to do, just long walks are not enough for him. He needs to go to someone who is experienced with the breed and has the 100% commitment and a lot of time to get him to the loving, loyal, trained pet I know he can be.
We have young kids and a cat of which he is fine with although with his bouncy nature, he has knocked them over accidently. This is an extremely hard choice for us as a family ands we are heartbroken to say goodbye, but we want him to go to someone who will give him what he needs and we know we cant and so we know this is the best option.
He is fully vaccinated, up to date with all flea and worming treatments and is currently on Tails tailor made food delivered monthly to our home.
