Selling our 5yr old horsfield tortoise. Strongly believed to be female although not officially confirmed. For the purposes of this advert we will refer to her as a she. Berdette still has lots of growing left to do. Included in the sale is her full housing set up, lamp & light bulb. Costing a small fortune in all. We kinda happened on this little one by difficult circumstances. The previous owner had a lot of other animals and could not cope. So we took her on as novice owners.
The enclosure measurements are as follows:
109cm long x 61cms wide x 24cm high
We have had this active and happy tort for about a month now. She is now kept on soil and is also now kept on a proper natural weed diet. Sadly due to working hours and is not getting the level of attention that we feel she is definitely used to. We are very much novice tort owners and feel it better that we find a more knowledgeable home for her.
As stated after numerous opinions on her sex...we have been advised to strongly believe her to be female...Berdette or bernie for short is her name. She can be dominant and she can be sassy at times. She is very active. She is not nasty or aggressive though.
Handled daily as much as we can, with our free time now unfortunately being limited. Weekly baths to hydrate. Used to handling from adults as well as young children. Can also be hand fed. It is really important to us as a family that berndette go to a very knowledgeable home. Fed a natural weed diet now as well as some occassional Lambs lettuce. Any questions just ask.
