Description
With heavy hearts, we’re looking to rehome our Dutch Malinois, Milo. He’s an incredibly intelligent, loyal, and energetic dog with a very high drive. Unfortunately, due to my partner’s work hours and my own difficulty managing his strength, we can no longer provide the structure and exercise he needs.
Milo is microchipped, fully vaccinated, and covered for kennel cough. He’s not aggressive, but he can be difficult to control — he doesn’t always listen and becomes protective when people visit, barking until they leave. He’s extremely clever (he can even open doors, so they’ll need to stay locked!) and loves tracking new scents. He’s very food-driven and motivated by chicken, beef, salmon, and tuna.
Milo adores cuddles and attention and has a lovely bond with our young daughter. However, as he hasn’t been around other children, we’d prefer a home without small kids. He doesn’t get along with other dogs or cats on walks, though he’s fine with our neighbour’s dogs through the fence.
He’s very strong and pulls on walks, so he’ll need someone confident, patient, and experienced with high-drive breeds who can commit to regular training and plenty of exercise. He does wear a muzzle on walks as he doesn’t like anyone running towards you.
We’ll only let Milo go to the right home. Several meet-ups in a public place will be required so he can get used to you before going home.
