Description

This is Miku, she's a 2.5 year old Japanese Shiba Inu. This is a really reluctant rehome for me as she's such a sweet girl but because of my failing health I can't give her everything that she needs. I'm disabled and things have gotten significantly worse for me since taking her on and I can't commit to her care needs like I could before. I will be quite selective about who I rehome her to. I would require that you: - have someone who is home for most of the day as she is used to that. - have a garden (the more secure the better as shibas are escape artists) or you are a person willing to commit to longer walks in the day. - potentially have another dog as she was raised with another dog and I think misses the company. - are willing to take her on knowing she has some training needs that I will list below. When I rehomed her I hadn't been told a lot about her history, she is so well behaved indoors and is well house trained but when she is outside she's very prey driven and distracted and pulls on the lead a lot. She doesn't have a lot of awareness with what's going on around her. I have made progress but where my health is slipping so has the progress. She may be a small dog but she's quite strong. She doesn't have much recall and will likely never be off lead because of this. She loves being outside though and she absolutely loves sunbathing in a garden. She has been around my teenage daughter but seems quite anxious of younger children, I wouldn't reccomend taking her on if you have younger kids. She loves belly rubs, having her fur brushed and being groomed (minus the bath but she does behave for a wash) and likes to hide under my bed for a nap. She doesn't play with toys but she does have the occasional zoomies and you might get a bit of fetch out of her in return for a treat. She's a very mild mannered lady, she licks her lips when she wants a treat and will give a hi 5 for one, she does sit, lay down, spin and jump up. She automatically sits for a treat when the packets are out. She's very particular about food and it's taken me a while to find one's that she likes. She also has allergies that are treated with otc anti histamines. She's not aggressive in the slightest and loves her lounging time. I just want her to have the best life possible, I'll be sad to see her go but I know I'm not providing enough for her. If you think you can offer her a good home please contact me and we can arrange a meet up/ walk with her.
