Description

We as a family have had to make this awful decision. Loki is our baby, but there’s been too many changes and we can’t give him what he needs anymore. Loki is an amazing dog, albeit very cheeky! Which is actually comical. Even though he’s an older dog, he still acts like a puppy at times. We can walk for miles, and he will happily play more once that’s done but is equally happy being cuddled up with someone on the couch. However, he does have separation anxiety, and because of this he needs someone that is in most of the time. He can be left in a crate but he will bark and become upset so this can only be for an hour or so. Loki is a stereotypical Doberman. Will bark when the door goes or thinks someone is approaching the home but calms down as soon as the door is open and he’s ready to welcome the guest happily. High prey drive, so cannot live with cats. Loves kids but will knock younger kids over and steal food from them so best suited to a house with older children. Loki gets on well with other dogs once he gets to know them, he can be a bit nervous at first. He has not lived with another dog so unsure how he would be since he needs a lot of attention. Loki has been neutered and will not come with any papers. He has been treated like a member of our family so is used to being involved in everything, being up on couches and beds and having a piece of anything you’re eating. Loki is fed dry food with raw bits of food throughout the week. He will eat pretty much anything and has always been very healthy. He actually loves the vets! He’s a very intelligent boy and enjoys playing games in the house. He is fully house trained and walks relatively well on the lead. First walk of the day and new places can cause him to pull a bit but he does the heel command and of he persists on wanting to pull a figure of 8 with his lead sorts that out straight away. He’s not a fan of being in the car so will cry for the first little while but settles down after a bit. The further away from his mum the more upset he gets. He gets in the car no problem though, no fear with it. There is so much more could be said as he has been the best dog, we just need to do what is in his best interest now. This is truly heartbreaking for us but have tried everything else. Because of this, homes will be vetted and knowledge of the breed and experience will be required.
