We are delighted to announce that our gorgeous Portuguese Water Dog is confirmed pregnant with several Portuguese Waterdoodles! These are F1 Waterdoodles. Not full breed Porties.
Her due date is the 25th of March 2025. She seems in perfect health.
This is her second litter. Photos of some of the puppies from her first litter are included. They should be ready to leave for their new homes near the end of July.
They will, of course, have had their health checks done before leaving for their new homes.
Mum - is a pedigree KC registered Portuguese Water Dog and our stunning family pet. She and the pups live in our home with older children and will have daily attention from younger children- so well handled and used to many different noises. Mum is very clever, fun, sweet, energetic and our loving family dog. All her DNA health tests are CLEAR. DNA results and KC Pedigree chart can be shown, as well as KC name given.
Sire - is a lovely white and silver toy poodle, with a sweet and happy temperament. He is DNA health tested and CLEAR. Screenshot of DNA health results and KC Pedigree chart can be shown, and KC name given.
Both the Portuguese Water Dog and the Poodle have webbed feet. Mum is a good strong swimmer and loves being in the water. These pups could be well on their way to becoming marvelous swimmers.
Both the Portuguese Water Dog and Poodle have hair and do not molt, and therefore perfect for people with allergies due to the very little, to no, dander.
Our pups will have had daily Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and daily Early Scent Introduction (ESI) starting from day 3.
This helps aid their development, resilience and coping mechanisms.

Scent is the way puppies experience the world. Introducing natural scents early on can help:

* Reduce behavioural issues in the long term
Research has shown that when puppies are exposed to scent at this early age, they have an association and a recognition towards that specific scent.
Week 3-6 is very important in the pups development. So to ensure they are confident with low anxiety it is fundamental that they are exposed, rested, loved and stimulated during this period.
We will be doing socialization as well as light and noise desensitisation. Introduction to bathing, brushing, drying and nail clipping, as well as handling their ears, mouth, paws and tail daily.
Crate training will have begun.
