Description
My name is Stephanie, and I’m reaching out from Tolworth, Surrey.
I am heartbroken to be in this position, but due to an upcoming house move in three weeks and being six months pregnant, I am no longer able to provide the care Stitch needs and deserves. I’ve contacted numerous charities — both large and small — as well as listed him on the Rehome website, but I’ve had no luck so far. I’m becoming desperate.
Let me tell you a little about Stitch.
I rescued him about six years ago after finding him in poor condition on the streets of Greenwich, London. He was thin, flea-ridden, and wary of people. Since then, I’ve given him a warm, loving home, and over the years, he has flourished into a social, affectionate, and confident cat.
Stitch is neutered, vaccinated annually, and up to date on flea and worm treatments. He gets wet food twice a day, along with dry food, treats, and new toys regularly. He is very sociable — he loves people and gets along well with other cats, dogs, foxes, and children. He has even been known to make himself at home in neighbours’ houses, sometimes staying for long naps or meals.
Unfortunately, over the last several months, Stitch has started to disappear for days at a time. I’ve tried everything to encourage him to stay closer — new foods, treats, and even introducing a second cat (his “brother,” Buzz), but nothing has helped. With a baby on the way and a move to a new home, I simply can’t manage his increasingly independent behaviour anymore.
Stitch is a beautiful soul who would thrive in a home where he has regular access to the outdoors and people who can give him the attention he craves — possibly with someone who is home a lot or in a more rural setting where his roaming wouldn’t be a concern.
