Unfortunately I have to sell my two 5 month old male rats. Ekko(stripe along back) and Ember(white body) are my two babies originally brought with two other male rats. The other two very sadly passed away, and since I am not allowed to get any more, it is in their best interest for me to pass them on to someone who can potentially introduce them into a bigger group.
Although the boys’ other cage mates suffered from illnesses, Ekko and Ember have been completely healthy since I bought them in March. They very recently went to the vet (the visit was not for them, they were accompanying a cage mate) and are completely healthy.
Ember and Ekko were bought from a pet shop (which wasn’t my ideal choice but I fell in love with them!) so are not as tame as rats from breeders. Despite this, I’ve done a lot of work with them and they are a lot better than they used to be. However, they are still quite bitey. It’s not aggressive or nasty, they are just very curious and think everything is food. They need a patient home with experienced or knowledgeable rat owners who can help them come out of their shell a bit more :)
The boys will come with everything they need, the current food they are on, bedding if needed, toys, chews, tunnels, hides, hammocks, ropes, water bottles, treats, forage etc and a big critter nation cage.
It is very important to me that my babies go to someone who is patient and knows rat care and who will care for them and love them unconditionally. It breaks my heart to sell them but I have to do what’s right for them, so 5* homes only please :)
