2/3 year old black cockapoo for sale. He's a lovely boy who loves humans and fusses. He is very hyperactive so would need a lot of mental and physical stimulation and someone who has a high fenced enclosed area as this boy can jump high! He's had a few homes before me and i could tell that he hasn't been trained properly. I have worked hard on him for the last 5 months teaching him to self soothe, manners and boundaries. He had food resource guarding issues but with a lot of work, this had gotten a lot better. He would be better suited to an adult only home as his hyperactivity is a problem around young children, he can get so excited that he bounces up on them and nips. I don't know a lot about his past and upbringing but I know he needs a person(s) with a clam voice and patience...I have a loud voice and am firm and he doesnt respond well to this, if he feels threatened, he will growl. I think in previous homes, he's been shouted at, hit and not given clear boundaries or direction. I feel like I've gone as far as i can with him and he now needs someone more suited to him who is willing to carry on with his training. He loves toys, ball throwing, water and 'sniff' walks and loves evening cuddles on the sofa. He is crate trained and can be left comfortably for a few hours at a time. He LOVES food so is brilliant with treat based training. He is reactive to male dogs, especially dominant dogs so could only share a home with a female or a soft, calm dog. He mixed really well with dogs in the rescue centre but has become reactive the more comfortable he's become in my home which is not ideal as my daughter can no longer visit with her dogs....he's fine with the softer lab and initiates play with him but him and the dominant lab constantly butt heads and fight. He would benefit from someone who is willing to work on this issue and have a good understanding of dog behaviour and is good at dog training.
