Description
We are opening the waiting list for our long awaited first litter for Shilo and the astounding Rupert (Storm Marvel and Dattelns Edges Oak of Bellesbank).
Shilo is our much loved family pet, a working line Labrador who’s calm and affectionate nature has helped our neurodivergent children in so many ways. She senses when the children are sad, or dysregulated and has a way of helping them to calm and regulate in an intuitive and instinctive way. Shilo has been a delight to join our family. Her recall is excellent and we all enjoy taking our Labradors on holiday with us and visiting the beaches and rivers. Shilo loves to swim and loves it when we are also in the water with her paddle boarding or swimming.
We carefully chose Rupert to match Shilo for her first litter. Rupert is a working dog with many awards. Aswell as this he is calm and the perfect gentleman who loved our cuddles when we met him. He is a deep fox red and the puppies are expected to be shades in between both parents.
Both Shilo and Rupert are extensively health tested - hip scored, elbow scored, annually eye tested and DNA profiled for Prcd-PRA, CNM, EIC, SD2, HNPk, MCD and Stargardt to ensure puppies are unaffected by hereditary diseases.
I see having a litter as a huge responsibility and privilege and we have been doing all we can to ensure the litter are as healthy as possible since conception.
Diet
Shilo is raw fed and the pups will also be weaned onto raw which suits our Labradors very well. During pregnancy I researched the best additional foods for Shilo to ensure the pups get the best start. Should you wish to wean your pup into kibble I am happy to advise on this also.
The puppies will be very well handled in our family of 5 children, teens and young adults with daily sounds such as singing, keyboard, washing machine, hoover etc and we also have 2 cats who will be around but I expect keeping out of the way!
I will be introducing enrichment activities for the puppies while ensuring Shilo has her own time while the puppies gain independence as they grow and wean from her milk.
I have an enclosed trailer to take the puppies for short outings in the week before leaving our home to their forever home and this will be to give them the benefit to have exposure to the outside world safely pre vaccination.
I will also be introducing a crate to the puppies so that they are used to this as a safe space should you wish to continue use of a crate at home.
Toilet training will begin at our home before they leave and I am happy to give life long support/advice regarding your puppy settling into your home etc to help ease the transition.
Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. I will also be asking questions before adding your name to our waiting list as we want to ensure that the puppies go to the most suitable and loving homes, whether as a working dog, or family pet.
The litter is due around the 18th November and will be ready for their new homes at 8 weeks old around mid January depending on birth date!
I am will be updating new owners on the puppies development and progress with regular videos, photos and a first visit at 4 weeks which will be around mid December.
Puppies will leave be vet health checked before leaving, with their own individual records and puppy pack including vet bed, toy, weeks supply of food, kennel club certificate and 5 weeks of Kennel Club Insurance allowing you time to set up your own insurance.
