Description
My parents purchased both Berti and his brother Hari from the original (licensed) breeder and took them home in February 2025. Although they were inseparable in the first six months (Berti and Hari are wonderful play mates) littermate syndrome kicked in and my parents (one partially sighted and the other with health conditions) struggled to manage with the two 'adolescent' males. We came to the truly heart-breaking and painful decision to rehome Berti in July 2025 with a lovely local retired couple who were able to devote unconditional time and love to Berti, moulding him into the loving, trained, wonderful boy that he is. Disaster has since struck and devastatingly the new owners health has drastically declined, now requiring around the clock care and regular spells in hospital. As the original owners (my parents and myself), we have always kept in touch with Berti's second owners to communicate updates about Berti and his adventures. Now that the second owners are unable to give Berti to love, life and care he deserves, I (the daughter of the original owners) am taking him into my care temporarily until I find him his forever home. (I would LOVE NOTHING MORE than to keep Berti myself, but unfortunately my work schedule is far too unpredictable, I travel often and I rarely spend much time at home). Berti is a beautiful soul, and is highly intelligent. It has been incredibly difficult for the second owners to let go - we all just want to find Berti the loving family he deserves!!!
He is still only 11 months old (turning one year next month). He is unneutered at the moment, house trained, well behaved on walks. Has attended regular puppy training classes and responds well to play, absolutely fine around kids and other dogs (just sometimes he and his litter mate squabbled whilst both unneutered) and LOVES to play, keep fit, explore and cuddle!
Price isn't the focus. Open to discussion with the right owners/ right home! As his original owners we would ideally LOVE someone local to North Wales/ West England so that we could keep in touch/ possibly meet up with his brother Hari - his brother is being neutered December.
If you think you'd be the perfect person/ family to welcome beautiful Berti, please get in touch! We are hoping to not prolong his brief stint with myself so he has a smoother transition to his new home.
(I have included photos of him as a puppy, along side his brother and from the Summer - I will update with more up-to-date photos ASAP!). Berti is a charcoal labrador and Hari a silver labrador).
If you are a charity - we wish him to go to a private family, many thanks for understanding!
