Description

We are pleased to offer for sale 5 boys and 2 girls. These puppies have definitely been bred in the purple combining bloodlines from Show Champions of Australia, The UK, Ireland, Norway, Greece, Spain, and Lithuania. This is the first litter for three-year-old Mum Chippwhipp Paint it Black aka Doris who is from a huge family of top whippets both in the UK and Europe. Dad Chakrata Pretty Boy Floyd at Collooney aka Floyd has been imported from Australia and again is from a long list of Champion dogs. Floyd’s first litter born October 2024 is progressing well in the show ring already. My breeding is based upon the outstanding whippet kennels of Collooney and Barnesmore who between them have bred some of the most outstanding whippets in the breed such as Collooney Tartan Tease the Best in Show at Crufts 2018 (who just happens to be the Great Aunt of Doris) and Irish, UK and Spanish Champion Barnesmore Celtic Tiger who is also in the bloodline of these puppies. The Puppies are bred along some fantastic bloodlines such the legendary 2013 & 2014 Crufts winner and UK record holder of 39 CC’s* Shalfleet Simply a Lord, Australian Champion Arjai Like a Criminal, UK Champion Courtbirch Force of Nature, Suna Regens Blossoms Keyzer Champion dog in Norway, Denmark, Luxembourg, Latvia and Estonia, German Champion Barnesmore Paint the Town and UK, Irish and Australian Champion Collooney Move On Over to name a few. In all there are 33 Multi Champion Whippets from across Europe and Australia. Please see the 5-generation pedigree on the Whippet Archives. These dogs are definitely bred in the purple so you will have a puppy that would be a worthy competitor in any whippet show ring and I would say that there is not a litter of such calibre better than this in the UK at the moment so they should excel. Alternatively, if showing is not your thing they will be equally happy to snuggle up to you on the sofa!! These puppies should reflect the breed standard of the whippet which can be found in more detail on the Kennel Club breed standard page. A breed standard is the guideline which describes the ideal characteristics, temperament and appearance including the correct colour of a breed and ensures that the breed is fit for function. Absolute soundness is essential. The degree of inbreeding can be measured using a calculation called the coefficient of inbreeding (CoI), or inbreeding coefficient. This calculates the probability that two copies of a gene variant have been inherited from an ancestor common to both the mother and the father. The lower the degree of inbreeding, the lower the inbreeding coefficient. The litter has a coefficient of 2.74% again see the Kennel Club website for more information. What this means for you is that the puppies should not have any nasty and costly genetic health problems for you to worry about as sadly a lot of breeds have (which unscrupulous breeders may fail to mention to the would-be buyer) As regards the puppies themselves we have 1 Black & White Brindle girl, a Gold and Black Brindle girl, 3 Gold and Black Brindle Boys and 2 Black and White Brindle Boys They will be ready for their new homes on the 16th of September. Pictures will be added regularly as the puppies get older and more mobile. They are being raised in my home currently enjoying the warmth of a heat lamp in my living room in a large whelping box with mum. Doris is still feeding puppies but they will be weaned on to solids mainly tripe and Royal Canin puppy food in due course. Dad resides in Dumfries and Galloway with his servant otherwise known as the owner. Doris’s sister Chippwhipp Back to Black, Grandma ChippWhipp Amazing Grace, and Great Grandma Collooney Highland Fling can be seen if you come to visit, and you may leave being as crazy about whippets as I am!! They will have been wormed every 2 weeks on Drontal puppy wormer and will come with a puppy pack consisting of a collar and lead, water and food bowls, a vile of Drontal, a bed and blanket from Oak Warren bedding supplies as well as free insurance and will have been socialised as much as is possible. If you have read this far and are interested in having one of these puppies please think if you can give a 14/15 year commitment to looking after him/her and giving the very best care. If the answer is Yes please feel free to contact me with your details for viewing/reservation. (If the answer is no then please don't waste my time and definitely don't get a dog) These dogs certainly make beautiful family companions requiring very little attention as regards grooming, do not require lots of exercise as do some breeds in fact sleeping is something they take very seriously. They are extremely affectionate and loyal and have gentle temperaments. I am very passionate about my dogs and ensuring that they get a first-class home is essential. I can provide as much help and advice to the you the prospective owner as you require for as long as you need. Updates, texts and photos will be made regularly to provide you with a progress report on your new puppy until he/she is ready for collection. Puppies will be registered with the Kennel Club and will be chipped as is the law, and will have had their first inoculation. They will not have had their dew claws removed as nature intended for them to be there. Reservation will require A £150 deposit which will be refunded in GENUINE circumstances. Please be warned that whippets are VERY addictive and the chances of you having at least 2 is very probable just ask any whippet owner • A Challenge Certificate (CC) is a document signed by a dog show judge, stating that the judge thinks your dog has what it takes to be a champion. This means your dog is the top dog of all his whippet competitors in the show of the same sex.
