Description
Cosmo is a large sized male dog with a docked tail that was found as a stray in Romania. In Romania he was a friendly boy that enjoyed reassurances. He was often walked with other dogs for dog tests. He travelled to a UK foster home in December 25. He is microchipped, vaccinated and neutered with no known health issues.
Cosmo can initially be wary of new people and he will growl and bark in fear but has not attempted to bite and is not aggressive. Once he feels safe he is a cuddly and loving boy. Slow introductions to new people would be best and upon arrival to a new home lots of reassurances. He does seem to bond with one person more but is very happy with multiple people once he knows them.
Due to Cosmos size, playful behaviour and sometimes nerves children 14+ would be best suited.
Cosmo in Romania was very dog friendly, in the home he would grumble at the resident dogs but has since enjoyed spending time with them. He is playful and even with negative reactions from other dogs he stays playful so will need help to learn boundaries, he would need sensible introductions. He was cat tested in Romania and done well,in the home he did growl at them but after a few days this hasn't happened since and he's been really good with them.
Cosmo is toilet and crate trained. He is doing well on walks, he can show fear reaction and bark at other people and dogs but since the foster has started work on this he will walk on easily, he is very praise driven. He sleeps well overnight once settled, he is also okay being left for short times during the day. He can jump a baby gate so his foster carers have doubled theirs. He can open doors and he has been destructive when shut in the room with the door shut. He has not been since the double height baby gates have been in place but he can struggle being left if you are elsewhere in the home.
Cosmos foster says 'someone with experience with dogs would be great, he’s very clever and picks up things really quickly, I would say older dog savvy children as he would knock smaller children over, he’s going to need ongoing training with someone he trusts. As he can react to people and dogs when out on walks, he’s very loving and will bond quickly with his person, he would like to have someone around most of the time and seeks cuddles and loves frequently'.
