As their name suggests, they originated in Hungary, where they were originally bred for hunting and where they have always been highly prized. Recently, however, the breed has gained popularity as a family and companion dog in many other countries around the world, and for good reason. The Vizsla is a noble, friendly and extremely loyal dog, and once it has formed a strong bond with its owners, it becomes a valued member of a household, liking nothing better than to take part in everything that goes on around the house.
