It is with a heavy heart that my wife and I are having to rehome our boy.
Dennis will be 6 months old on 18th October we have had him since 9 weeks, bought from the breeders where we met 2 of his siblings and mum.
We extensively researched the best breed for our family as we have a 6 year old who is autistic and 3 years old and 9 month old baby. He is incredibly soft with the kids even when playing and saves rough play for either me or my wife. Our oldest has been absolutely glued to him and would cry when it was bed time however the past couple of months it has been the complete opposite and he refuses to go near Dennis. My wife is a SAHM and is constantly with the kids and Dennis and if she has to leave the room she’ll either take Dennis with her or put him in his crate. So we know he has never bit or hurt any of the kids in any way. Our 3 year old is now copying our 6 year olds behaviour and will scream and cry if Dennis comes near her. So it’s just not fair on our kids or on Dennis especially when he doesn’t understand and thinks he’s done something wrong when he hasn’t.
Dennis has had both his jabs and isn’t due until he turns one.
He’s currently on monthly flea and wormer tablets which will be transitioning to every 3 months.
His food is Tribal which he has two meals of the dry puppy food and the wet food we put on a licky mat once a day with other treats.
He is crate trained, toilet trained, he knows sit, paw, bed, come here, wait (while you’re doing his food) and yes when his food is ready to eat.
He loves running around the garden chasing his ball and the kids when they’d play with him however he does need patience and encouragement to go on walks, he was recently attacked by another animal on a walk so now we have been trying to slowly build up his confidence again.
He comes with a crate, 2 beds, a basket full of toys, lead and collar, food, bathing products and his paperwork.
We won’t be selling him to just anyone, if we get a bad vibe from conversations or when we meet you, it will be a straight up no.
Although he is always home with my wife and the kids, he doesn’t have separation anxiety, my wife would put him in his crate for short periods in a different room so he was alone and then he’d come back in with everyone and he just got used to her consistently doing that, so now he’ll happily just sleep in his crate downstairs whilst we’re all upstairs.
