Description

Sadly we are looking to rehome our Dachshund Luna. She is 9 years old but still full of life. We adopted her 4 years ago now but due to circumstance we are no longer able to look after her. She's currently with our other dog, who she gets along with okay, but we do feel she may benefit from being an only dog. She loves to have all attention on her and isn't big on sharing it. She has made good progress with us training wise. She is now toilet trained, will listen to basic commands like 'sit', 'wait' and 'paw'. However we do believe the training needs to continue in her new home as she does have that sausage dog stubborness! :) When we got her she was severely over weight and had major dental disease. Through diet she is now at a healthy weight and she has had 3 dentals (including extractions) so she doesn't have many teeth left but she's still able to eat dry food with a slow feeder. This is something to consider as she needs ongoing annual dentals (she's due for one about now) which means ongoing costs. The breed is well known for this - she is a big barker Luna loves walks and mental stimulation, as well as spending her days snuggled under blankets asleep on your lap. She is a loyal dog with plenty of love to give and would be a great addition to your home. We do not currently have children so I can't say how she would cope with kids. For that reason we'd prefer if she went to a child free home, however we are open to discussing this. We won't just give her to anyone so discussions will definitely need to happen to ensure she is going to a suitable home that will let her thrive the most. She is ready for rehoming
