Leo is a sweet, affectionate boy who thrives on love, routine, and reassurance. He’s been through a lot in his young life — earlier this year, Leo was sadly attacked by two other dogs, which left him anxious and reactive. Thanks to a lot of love and dedicated training with a behavioural specialist, Leo has made incredible progress and is continuing to improve every day.
Leo is a sensitive dog who can get easily overwhelmed, so he follows a structured daily routine that keeps him mentally stimulated and calm. He loves playing fetch, solving puzzles, and getting plenty of positive reinforcement throughout the day. Currently, he enjoys one decompression walk daily and does best when his environment is quiet and predictable.
Leo is crate trained and finds comfort in his crate, but he can become distressed if left alone for long periods or without proper mental stimulation beforehand.
Why We’re Rehoming Leo:
This is a heartbreaking decision for us. Unfortunately, since his traumatic experience, Leo no longer gets along with our other dog (a dachshund), despite our best efforts. We feel Leo would be much happier in a home where he can be the only pet and receive the full attention and calm environment he needs to continue his healing journey.
Leo’s Ideal Home:
* 🏡 A quiet, adult-only home with no other pets
* 🌳 Preferably a large, secure outdoor area for safe play and exploration
* 🧠 A patient, experienced owner willing to continue working with him at his pace
* ❤️ Someone who is often home or can provide Leo with consistent attention and mental engagement
* 🚫 A home with minimal exposure to unfamiliar people and no pressure to interact with other animals
Leo is a truly special dog who just needs the right environment and a compassionate person to help him feel safe and secure. He is not aggressive — he is anxious and needs someone who understands dog behaviour and can continue the great progress he’s already made.
Adoption Fee:
We are not asking for a set price — our priority is finding Leo the right home. A small rehoming fee or donation is optional and would only go toward supporting Leo’s transition. Most of all, we just want to know he’ll be safe, happy, and loved.
