Description

A very sad advert to make for a beloved pet. This is Dottie 🎀 our female black lab. We have owned Dottie since she was 8 weeks old, she has now just turned 3 years old. ✅ Dottie is a beautiful soul, she is a people person and loves to snuggle. She is clean in the house, great with other dogs, with cats, and has been around horses all of her life so she’s great with those too. She is great with kids (but more to be explained below). Dottie is crate trained, and is happy being left alone for a few hours with the radio on! She also loves the car and is used to being in the car all day when I take her out to work with me. Dottie is a partially trained working dog, with excellent recall, and brilliant self control. She has been on a couple of shoots for experience and would make a brilliant gun dog with consistent training. ❌ Unfortunately Dottie’s only downfall, and reason for rehoming, is that she is crate territorial. She has always been food territorial, but in more recent months it progressed to growling over toys/bones, which we removed from the equation to rid the issue, but she now growls at our children if they walk past her in the crate / on her bed, which is making our children nervous around her. Unfortunately due to having a small house, we don’t have a spare room that she can be alone in for peace & quiet. She never bites, snaps or snarls but with young children it is never work the risk. Out of the crate she is absolutely fantastic with children, but we feel that she would better suit a home with no children or where she can either have a place in the house where she can be crated with no disturbance from children, or she can have the crate removed and full home access. Please don’t let this put you off, as besides this she is the most loveable dog and steals the hearts of everyone she meets, meet her to see for yourself! â˜ș
