Description
Pixel is a 10 Year old Medium Male. He is neutered, Vaccinated and Microchipped.
Pixel was rescued from the streets of Curtea De Arges, Romania in May 2024. He was described as a Chill boy.
Pixel spent 2 Months in shelter before moving to his current foster home in August 2024. He is now ready for Adoption.
Pixel displays some guarding behaviour with his main female foster. He generally dislikes males inside and outside of the home and has shown some reactivity towards certain people, mainly men, causing him to growl and lunge. For this reason Pixel is separated from all guests to the house and a female only home would be preferable, with multiple meets before adoption
Pixel does like some people he has met since being in the UK he loves , fuss, strokes, love and attention from his foster and her daughter.
Pixel did meet a child aged 12 while in Romania and was good with her however he not met children since being in the UK. He would therefore prefer a home with only Children 12+ with sensible introductions.
Pixel accepts a collar, harness and lead, he is very good on the lead and walks by your side without pulling. He enjoys slow walks, he is very calm and plods along at his own pace. He does get very excited to see big dustbins when out walking. Pixel sometimes reacts to motorcycles and bikes.
Pixel currently shares his home with other dogs who he is very good with, he is very sociable with them and very chilled and placid. He can therefore share his home with other dogs with sensible introductions. When on walks Pixel is not reactive with other dogs, his foster, however, does not tend to interact with them or encourage this. Pixel does not wear a muzzle.
Pixel met cats while in Romania and ignored them. He can therefore share his home with cats with sensible introductions.
Pixel is toilet trained but he is not crate trained. He has never been destructive in the home and has been left for up to 3 hours with no issues. Pixel sleeps well overnight and will sleep in his owners room or on his own with no issues, he enjoys sleeping on the landing upstairs. He will wake up at 7am but will patiently wait for his breakfast until 8am. He does not guard food or toys. He can sometimes be a cheeky boy and steal food in reach such as bags of crips and loaves of bread, these are now kept out of his reach.
Pixel is on steroids for a skin condition and has eye drops, he can also suffer from diarrhoea, hopefully a change to prescription food will help this. He does also have one ear smaller than the other however this doesn't bother him.

Pixel's foster has said the following:
Pixel is very well orientated but doesn't beg too much, he will patiently wait to be given his meals. He doesn't know how to play with toys, he just wants to be babied and stroked by us. He doesn't use dog beds but is learning that blankets are good! He is slowly lying on them more and more. Pixel is very tolerant and fine being washed. He only barks when the other dogs do but not always. All in all he is a lovely dog and we love him so much. He loves watermelon but isn't a fan of strawberries, he will force himself to eat one eventually. He also loves eggs and sardines. He loves when you talk to him, he gets very close to you and seems like he takes in everything you say. He is bombproof and isn't fazed by any loud noises such as blenders, hoovers or the lawnmower. He is also very response when you call his name and comes straight away.
